Budapest Card is an excellent acquisition for any visitor who wishes to spend two or three days in Budapest, and squeeze a bunch of interesting experiences into this short stay - all for the lowest possible cost.
The price of a Budapest Card is:
  • 6500 HUF (about 26 Euro) - valid for 48 hours
  • 8000 HUF (about 32 Euro) - valid for 72 hours
The Card can be used by one adult and it's also valid for a child (up to 14 years of age) in case the adult is accompanied by one.
The holder of the Budapest Card is offered more than a hundred services either for free or for very favourable prices, including travel on public transport, entry to museums, participation on sightseeing tours, tickets for cultural and entertainment programmes, as well as discounts in restaurants, spas, sport facilities and in case of car rental. Public transport
Travelling with public means of transport (buses, metro, trams, trolleys, cogwheel railway) in the capital and with local suburban trains (HÉV) outside the city limits is free of charge. Also if you have a valid Budapest Card and buy a ticket for the Children's Railway, your child can travel free of charge with you. For the Chairlift up to János Hill (János-hegy), you get a 10% discount on the fare.
Museums and sights
The Budapest Card provides free access to the permanent exhibitions in 60 museums of the capital, free admission to the Matthias Church as well as the Pálvölgy- and Szemlő Hill Caves; in case of temporary museum exhibitions, the MEO Contemporary Art Collection, the House of Terror, the Buda Castle Labyrinth and the Tropicarium you get 20-30% discount on the admission fee. You can also enjoy the panorama from the dome of Saint Stephen's Basilica, take a guided tour in the State Opera House or the Dohány Street Synagogue.
City tours
Budapest Card grants the holder a 50% discount on the 3 hour sightseeing bus tours organized by Program Centrum travel agency, and 24% on day and night river tours organized by Legenda Travel; you can enjoy the view of the city from the Budapest Eye panorama balloon 30% cheaper.
Cultural programmes
Budapest Card offers 15% off the price of tickets for classical music programmes organized by the Hungária Concert, 20% discount in the Budapest Grand Circus, the Corvin Cinema, the Laser Theatre and the English-speaking performances of Merlin Theatre. You also get 25% reduction for the performances of the Folklore Centrum where you have the chance to learn the traditional Hungarian dances. Admission to the Zoo, the Funfair and the Palace of Miracles is free of charge.
Baths and Spas
With Budapest Card you get 10% off the entrance fee to the Széchenyi- and Gellért Bath as well as the thermal waters of Hotel Helia and the outdoor swimming pools of Római and Palatinus Baths on Margaret Island.
Catering and restaurants
Budapest Card grants the holder and his/her guests 10-20% reduction in the following restaurants and cafés: Béke Zsolnay Café, Kaltenberg Bavarian Royal Brasserie, Taverna-Zsolnay Café, Restaurant Gambrinus, Restaurant Pilvax, McKiwan's Sandwich Bars, Café Lukács, Kárpátia restaurant and brasserie, Premier Restaurant, Plaza Grill, Gerbeaud Brasserie, Lion's Fountain Restaurant, Hotel Liget - Grill Restaurant, Kéményseprő Restaurant, Hotel Hilton - Dominican Restaurant, Corvina Restaurant, Margaréta Café, Grand Hotel Margitsziget - Széchenyi Restaurant, Astoria Café Mirror, Empire Restaurant, Corvina Restaurant.
